Templars Medical and Humber Coast & Vale General Practice are working in partnership to offer a supported and personalised transition to joining NHS general practice in the UK. General Practice in the UK offers a challenging and diverse career and the GP Induction & Refresher Scheme provides a direct route into the profession.

 

Humber Coast & Vale General Practice, on the east coast of England provides services to communities in Scarborough and Ryedale, Hull, North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and the Vale of York. Small or large, rural or city, traditional or pioneering – Humber Coast & Vale General Practice has it all.

 

 

 

The NHS GP Induction and Refresher Scheme (I&R) provides a safe, supported and direct route for overseas GPs who have qualified outside of the UK with no NHS experience to join NHS general practice. It is mandatory GPs practising in the UK are included on NHS England’s Medical Performers List (MPL) and the I&R must be completed before GPs can be included onto the MPL.

 

Providing dedicated practical support GPs joining the scheme will have one point of contact at Templars Medical throughout the entire process. Tailored to your individual needs the scheme includes a range of assessments for e.g. placements and simulated surgeries planned in relation to your experience and personal commitments.

 

Templars Medical will help you with arranging the financial support available which can include help with indemnity in addition to a monthly placement bursary of up to £3,500.

 

 

 

The first phase of this scheme is recruiting into 7 GP practices across Scarborough & Ryedale.

Templars Medical is currently inviting expressions of interest from GPs qualified overseas interested in a supported and personalised transition to working as a GP in the UK. Funding is available for successful candidates to cover the cost of this process.

 

There is an optional initial placement which includes an induction to the NHS system and the opportunity to experience work in the local district hospital. There will be a named Educational Supervisor who will be allocated for weekly meetings until you become an independent member of the team.

 

The process will take between 9 to 12 months, which includes a 6-month supervised placement within a GP practice. Upon completion of the induction period you will be offered a permanent role within the Scarborough and Ryedale CCG with full NHS salary and benefits.

 

Templars Medical will provide you with everything you need to know about relocating to the UK. We will keep in touch with you throughout the entire process and assist with medical registration, interviews, accommodation and your transition to a new country.
