The post will involve supporting the colorectal service in outpatients. The post will involve supporting Colorectal outpatients with phone and face-to-face consultations plus trak based checking of notes for triaging to test. At present while there is a direct -to-test facility many patients are brought up to clinic in order for fitness to be assessed and colorectal investigation instigated. This means that the consultant surgeons see many patients who have no surgical diagnosis whatever. This GP/ specialty doctor role is designed to enable more efficient usage of outpatient slots with faster processing to relevant investigation for many patients.
