The Purpose of the Role: To provide expert clinical and patient centred-care within Community Family Health through shift-by-shift team leadership. Support the facilitation and provision of quality and cost effective nursing services which are consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-informed practice. Responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/ leadership, management, education and/or research within Community Family Health. The Clinical Nurse practices autonomously, applies critical thinking and provides leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to Community Family Health Child Health clients.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements: It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment:

• Measles • Mumps • Rubella • Varicella (chicken pox) • Pertussis (whooping cough) • Hepatitis B

Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is within a different Queensland Health entity (ie one HHS to another HHS, Department to a HHS, or HHS to Department).

For those staff self assessing as coming from a background where there is a high incidence of Tuberculosis (TB), they are encouraged to arrange screening and follow up with the Metro South Clinical Tuberculosis Services on (07) 3176 4141 or (07) 3176 4166
