About the role

The Advanced Clinical Coder is required to participate in a team environment to ensure the accurate and timely collection of morbidity data to meet data reporting requirements of West Moreton and Queensland Health. 

The position is responsible for Liaising with hospital clinicians in order to improve the quality and timeliness of morbidity data and Activity Based Funding (ABF).

Under the direction of the Clinical Coding and Data Quality Manager, guide and mentor the clinical coders in accordance with organisational goals, guidelines and standards.  Participate in Clinical Information Systems related quality activities, including auditing, education, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) and Performance Indicators for Coding Quality coding audits.  The Senior Clinical Coder is acknowledged as having high level clinical coding skills and knowledge across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting through a minimum of 2 years coding experience.
