The Ventures Studio at Citi Ventures combines design, strategy, partnerships, and digital product management to develop collaborative solutions that increase economic vitality for people, businesses, and cities. Position SummaryCiti Ventures is seeking a Head of Design to join the Ventures Studio team in San Francisco. You will help set up the design organization and strategy to define, develop and test new products for growth ecosystems addressing the future of work, new business creation, and city competitiveness. You are a digital product design leader with an insatiable appetite for understanding your customers and are relentless in finding solutions that meet their needs, sweating the details and tying them back to the big picture. You have a knack for creating intuitive, scalable and functional web product experiences, and you champion users through every step of the way, keeping them at the heart of what you’re building. Information architecture & hierarchy, user flows and UI patterns are second nature to you. You thrive in entrepreneurial and nimble environments, and eat, sleep, and breathe digital interfaces, design best practices, and user behaviors. You are a natural leader that can inspire, mentor, and motivate a team of design researchers and product designers. You’re willing to get your hands dirty and complete all tasks big and small when needed to support your team, to make sure a great user experience is delivered.  In addition, this role will be responsible to conduct opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts, analyze potential partner opportunities for the product and in general to ensure that the Citi Ventures focus areas expand and add value to what is already underway across the broader enterprise. We are looking to recruit somebody with a passion for design, research and financial services domain knowledge, the ability to succeed in a start-up environment, strong analytical and communications skills, and also the ability to collaborate and succeed in a large, global company. Successful candidates will have built and managed design teams at pure play consumer facing technology companies, within the consumer digital division of Fortune 500 blue chip firms, at a growth stage consumer facing startup, or at an industry leading consumer digital product agency. Hands-on fluency with the end-to-end stages of digital product development, with demonstrated success overseeing design from early stage experimentation, rapid iteration, testing and refinement through to delivered, final products, major feature sets, and new services are a must. You will work closely with key partners to develop integration pilots, and with internal stakeholders to test, develop, and commercialize the most successful of these. You must have the confidence to lead in a rapidly changing environment, informed by a problem-solving mindset that remains continuously open to feedback. The Head of Design will be skilled in designing high quality, intuitive products and applications that customers love. In this role you will be among a likeminded group of digital leaders across Citi, helping to bring new practices and to attract new talent in to the bank. Candidates should have the interpersonal skills and relationship-building acumen to operate seamlessly and effectively with functional counterparts within Citi, and across the innovation ecosystem, to bring new products to market. You should be skilled at communicating the principles behind building successful design teams, and able to act as an evangelist for methods of digital product innovation.   Responsibilities
