Applications are invited for the above post based at York Hospital. The successful applicant will join a team of 26 consultants, working across our York and Scarborough sites.

York Hospital has been a vascular centre since 2011, serving the population of North Yorkshire. It is a busy department where the work is varied and rewarding, including Vascular and Non Vascular intervention, EVAR and FEVAR. The York Vascular Unit fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and there is an excellent working relationship between the surgeons and interventional radiologists. Interventional radiology lists take place in two labs, both with new Siemens Artis Zee C- arms.  The primary lab is within the 13 bed Vascular Imaging Unit complex. The second lab is in the main theatres suite.  Funding has been secured to expand the Vascular Imaging Unit to accommodate more day beds and incorporate a new hybrid theatre.

Based at York Hospital you would work as an integral part of both the multidisciplinary vascular and the general radiology teams, undertaking a wide range of interventional radiology procedures and contributing to the diagnostic radiology service. The post is offered at 10 PA's and duties will be split between vascular/interventional and general diagnostic radiology.

The Directorate covers the whole trust and the radiology team contributes to service provision at Scarborough Hospital with occasional cross site working.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diagnostic and interventional radiology and be an active member of the interventional team.

You would participate in the1 in 6 interventional radiology on call rota.
