Citi has made it a priority to foster a culture where the best people want to work, where individuals are promoted based on merit, where we value and demand respect for others and where opportunities to develop to are widely available to all. Overview of Role The Client Account Officer provides on-site client account service support to the relationship managers (bankers) of the Citi Private Bank Canada business.  The Client Account Officer’s focus is to ensure that the client on-boarding process is a positive, seamless experience to our ultra-high net worth clientele.  The Client Account Officer strives to continuously improve all of its end-to-end processes, procedures and operational platforms to consistently meet our client’s needs and expectations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Account Opening:
  • Work with banking team to complete documentation (including setting up banking; loan and investment accounts), managing all account opening inquiries and overseeing transfer of all documents and securities
  • Ensure all application and required documentation returned by clients is present, accurate and complete
  • Support banking team and partner with KYC Analyst and Account Opening staff to support on-boarding workflow and ensure efficient account opening
  • Partner with Sales to track the status of client information and/or documentation that may be missing or incomplete including Business Risk Memo (BRM)
Client Account Maintenance and Transaction Processing:
  • Provides Sales support through research, finalizing relationship reports and aggregating account information
  • Manage and execute client transactions with respect to banking, credit and investment products, over the phone and sometimes in person.  Ensure transactions are completed within audit and compliance standards as well as timely
  • Take ownership of client investigations (e.g., fraud enquiries, statement reporting issues and pricing inquiries) and collaborate with operational and middle office teams to ensure effective resolution
  • Perform account maintenance on OneSource including address changes, telephone number updates, account status changes, rates and fee waivers
Compliance:
  • Client Risk Profile (CRF) - researching client information; entering client data into a single system and completing annual reviews
  • Periodic Client Reviews - producing monthly reports by Banker; researching changes; submitting annual review forms and updating profiles
  • Monitoring & documentation of Investment Objectives and Suitability
  • Enforce internal and external banking and investment policies and procedures to ensure operational integrity
  • Identify fraudulent transactions and trends, protect client assets and report individual situations to management for resolution and potential process definition/modification
Perform responsibilities through proficient use of the Citi applications such as:  GL Canada, InView, OneSource, Flexcube, Credit Platform, DMS, Citiscreening and WINS
Qualifications
 Experience Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial industry
  • At minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant financial services experience required
  • Client facing experience, preferably in the financial services industry; strong background and interest in the fields of operations and compliance
  • Knowledge of investments, banking and credit products preferred
  • Ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with various groups including sales, service, operations, compliance, and marketing
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality with respect to the franchise and the client
  • Demonstrates initiative without compromising compliance or confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task per the needs of banker teams and clients
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze data with demonstration of attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency and aptitude in utilizing systems, MS Office, web based and other desktop applications
