Strategic Intent


The In-Business Controls functions for Credit Operations manages acceptance/underwriting, collections and fraud operations for Citi’s Consumer products. The division employs staff across multiple sites, including Rhodes NSW, Manila, Mumbai and Gurgaon.


Job Purpose


The Consumer Operations Oversight Function (“COOF”) Senior Manager is responsible for the end-to-end controls implementation and management and will manage a team of controls staff. The role is a member of the Credit Operations Leadership Team and will be responsible for delivering appropriate business solutions whilst ensuring internal policy and external regulatory requirements are satisfied. The successful incumbent will need the ability to influence Business Unit Managers to adopt control and process improvement recommendations to enhance the control environment and embed an effective control culture across the division.


Key responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification, Analysis, and Management
  • Completion of the Annual Risk Assessment process
  • Assist in Audits, Reviews and Regulatory Examination Management
  • Implementation of corrective action plans
  • Review and approve Policy and Procedure documents
  • Produce monthly risk reports for senior management
  • Escalation and timely resolution of concerns and incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis and establish an effective feedback loop to management
  • Develop testing programs and procedures relevant to risk and test objectives
  • Validate Corrective Action Plans have successfully mitigated risks raised


Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience or in an internal audit/first line risk background in consumer banking
  • Highly motivated and results driven with the capacity to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding the Credit Operations processes 
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, processes, and controls concepts, including risk identification, monitoring frameworks and methodologies
  • Sound risk reporting skills
  • Preferably experience in retail banking, working with internal auditors, and understanding of regulatory obligations for consumer banking
  • Have experience managing a small team
  • Ability to communicate technical/complex concepts to a broad audience
