  • GFTS provides application development and other technology services for global functions, including Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Real Estate, IT Risk, Procurement, and General Services.

Job Description:

  • This position is within the Global Functions Technology organization, and it is responsible for the architecture, strategy and execution of Comp and Benefit programs. Equity Compensation Strategic Initiative (ECSI) is a company-wide program designed to create an information infrastructure that will support processes for US and local accounting (including IFRS), Human Resources and Tax Reporting. The objective is to address the equity data requirements of Equity Compensation Finance (including country finance), Human Resources and Tax on a global, regional and country basis, encompassing all Citigroup businesses.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for delivery of multiple development teams involving variety of technologies

  • Reviews and analyzes proposed technical solutions for projects and responsible for quality and delivery

  • Identifies gaps and synergies across functions and collaborates with global partners to help build a consistent platform

  • Contributes to formulation of strategies for apps development and other functional areas. Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions

  • Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area

  • Utilizes working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Cloud Adoption tools/methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools

  • Customer interfacing – including but not limited to understand customer requirements, proposing technical solutions and working as a partner

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of apps development collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals; requires basic industry knowledge

  • Requirement gathering and understanding, effort estimation, technical design, project planning and monitoring

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situation

  • Responsible for technology governance and lead various initiatives to help build the best in class technology solutions

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Must possess 8+ years of relevant experience in Database/ETL/Reporting

Technical Skills Required:

  • Willing to continue in the data warehouse and database domain

  • Experience on data warehousing and business intelligence concepts and design principles/practices is a plus

  • Good communication skill and interpersonal skill

  • Proficient in read, written and verbal English

  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Work under ambiguity, result oriented, focus on details

  • Experience with database

  • Experience with framework like Spring, ORM tool like Hibernate

  • Candidates will be responsible for the full SDLC of the project

  • Understanding of one or more of the following business processes, securities lending, cash management, cash reporting is a plus

Interpersonal & Leadership Competencies:

  • Ability to identify, highlight and manage risk appropriately

  • Must: A strong background in Citi Equity and Incentive Compensation, Data Warehousing, Reporting including but not limited to equity life cycle (award, vesting, exercise, equity taxation, termination etc.), amortization, US GAAP and IFRS accounting methodologies

  • Ability to direct the day-to-day work of senior programmer/Leads of various technologies

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with business, operations, and technology partners at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent verbal and written business and technical communication skills

  • A motivated, self-directed, highly proactive attitude and approach

  • Candidate should be willing to work extended hours in order to interact  with global partners/teams or as per project demand
