The Resource Planning and Optimization Manager is responsible for leading, managing and developing the manpower planning and roster team for Qatar Airways Ground Services Hub Operations. The successful candidate will ensure that resource usage is optimized throughout the Operations and will support in the initial identification of skills/manpower shortage. He/she will undertake appropriate resourcing and recruitment exercises in order to acquire manpower with relevant skills, knowledge and experience within acceptable period.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manages and develop a professional, efficient Planning and Resource Management function that provides insights on current and future resource needs of the Hub. Analyzes operational demands and produces consolidated resource planning across Hub.
Determines budget and creates financial plan. Optimizes forecast based on cost effectiveness and operational efficiency with focus on the strategic direction and expected performance levels defined by Hub Management.
Analyzes the short and long-term Hub operational forecast, evaluates trends and patterns related to the resources and utilizes the analysis results to come up with accurate short and long-term demand forecasts.
Manages data and works closely with other Departments within Qatar Airways group to identify workforce shortages and produce solutions.
Establishes the resource aspects for the purpose of manpower budget planning and control for all Hub Operations.
Provides guidance and assistance to employees in relation to administrative matters and employment conditions by consistently implementing enhanced processes to ensure maximum operational and commercial efficiencies.
Manages effective roster implementation and supervision of Days in Lieu/ Overtime allocation with minimum risk of daily operation for respective shift.
Drives periodic meetings with system suppliers and other stakeholders to maintain the system, ensures appropriate enhancements, and updates in the tool.
Supervises, leads, coaches and develops a specialized Planning and Roster team defining best practices for producing accurate manpower forecasts and rosters for QR Doha Hub.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree from reputed University/Colleges with 7 years of job related experience. You have extensive knowledge of different rostering/planning tools. You have previous experience in managing ground operations in a large-scale airport. You have solid understanding and hands-on experience of resource management and planning including static and rolling forecasts, skills analysis and resource optimization techniques.
You have strong business acumen and able to challenge others to manage change creatively, implement new approaches and encourage continuous improvement within your areas of responsibilities. You have excellent forecasting skills and has strong financial awareness. You are able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Good analytical and decision-making skills are key to this role. You are solution oriented, effective communicator and has very good attention to details and quality.
