In this role you will manage and supervise available resources at their disposal for timely and cost effective deliverance of the assigned project in accordance with defined specifications, work scope, regulatory and safety requirements, applicable mandates and company requirements. Provide required guidance to project engineers on all related aspects and enable them to resolve any matters and outstanding issues related to assigned projects.
Key Accountabilities includes:
Responsible for development of effective Product Specifications (PSD), work scope, requirements and specifications, enabling selection of state-of-the art Cabin/Avionics/IFEC systems and equipment that provides competitive edge to Qatar Airways over its competitors. Ensure that all Qatar Airways, regulatory and operational requirements, including but not limited to, design, technology, maintainability, reliability have been identified and included.
Responsible for evaluation of all technical proposals and finalization and endorsement detailed evaluation reports. In coordination with BFE/SFE management, assist in completion of commercial evaluation report in a timely manner and participate in all negotiations to secure the best technical and commercial solutions to meet company requirements.
Provide recommendations for acceptance or rejection of aircraft definition specifications options such as SCN/MSCN or Standard Selection options or Master Change (MC) or Change Request (CR), RMO, to management for consideration and final approval with complete technical and commercial impact and justification.
Review the cost of all SCNs/Options/Master Changes and initiate discussions with OEMs and suppliers with the objective that costs reflects the actual burden and efforts
To be successful in this role you must hold a Degree or equivalent in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionic Engineering or ICAO type II / holder engineer aircraft licenses B1/B2 with minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience as Development Engineer in Airline/MRO or Aircraft Program / Projects Department as de Design Engineer in a Design Organization or OEM/vendor or you have a minimum 10 years relevant experience as ICAO Type II License B1/B2 Engineer in Airline Technical Department. Advantage if you have Project Management Training certificate. A clear understanding of operational excellence and extensive experience on Cabin / Avionics/IFEC projects, layout changes, various cabin modifications equipment selection, seat electrical design development.
You will have good knowledge of aircraft / interiors / IFEC / avionics systems and proficiency in the use of MS Office and other similar IT software packages. You should be fluent in English and familiar with QCAA, EASA, ICAO, FAA regulations. You must have ability to delegate work and set clear direction and manage workflow.Note: you will be required to attach the following:
