Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) - An Award-winning catering company, provides exclusive catering services to Qatar Airways and other airlines that service Hamad International Airport.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to deliver scientific and evidence-based assessment of the nutritional value of the meals produced by Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) and to develop meals in line with specialist dietary requirements for the airline industry. You will be implementing management's vision with regards to the food nutrition of the organisation.

 Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing health advice and promoting healthy meal options based on nutritional needs and dietary assessments during the general menu development process;
  • Advising customers on special meal options in relation to nutritional and allergen requirements to assure compliance with dietary requirements;
  • Analysing nutritional content of meals, special and regular, if and when required;
  • Ensuring meal labelling adheres to local and international labelling standards and regulations;
  • Contributing new ideas for menu development and identifying gaps in current menu options;
  • Supporting menu review process;
  • Leading and conducting allergen checks in compliance with legal obligations;
  • Developing crew information packs relating to special menu items;
  • Monitoring food service operations to ensure conformance with nutritional and dietary principles;
  • Developing and analysing weekly statistical summary reports on voyage complaints;
  • Designing customer educational literature such as manuals, brochures and SOPs to ensure compliance with food and drink legislation and standards.
About You:

Essential

  • Relevant College or University qualification to minimum Bachelor level in dietetics, food and nutrition, food service systems management, clinical nutrition or related area
  • Registered Dietician or Nutritionist
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in food industry/manufacturing
  • Professional qualifications in food safety
  • Experience in and understanding of change management
  • Effective logic, reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Results-driven with high attention to detail
  • Good understanding of QA and HACCP guidelines

Preferred

  • Experience in menu development for the airline industry (cook and chill process, frozen meal production)
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
  • Experience in development of dietetic meals for institutions such as hospitals, schools or food manufacturers
