The Prevention Division leads and sets direction for improving the health of the people of Queensland through the prevention of disease, protection of health and promotion of wellbeing.
This role is located within the Preventive Health Branch which has two key areas of responsibility – Cancer Screening and Health and Wellbeing. Staff develop strategy, policy, and programs related to population cancer screening, health promotion and chronic disease prevention. Staff also provide valuable public health epidemiology monitoring and reporting functions, as well as managing the security, confidentiality and accuracy of public health data and the maintenance of critical screening information systems.
