The Sub Acute Care Unit is responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation services to older and younger people in the sub-acute stage of their illness or injury recovery phase; to promote independence in activities of daily living that helps regain functional capacity and reduce functional decline.  SACU is a stand-alone unit located on the eastern campus (off site) of the Townsville Hospital and the total number of beds in SACU is forty-five (45), consisting of two independent living units and a mix of sub acute rehabilitation and geriatric cohort of patients.

Generous remuneration package value up to $66,300 p.a. comprising salary range of $39,536 to $58,109 p.a. (HP3), 17.5% leave loading, 12.5 % employer contribution to superannuation. Mandatory Requirements
  • The successful applicant must at least hold an Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification (s) in an eligible discipline and/or extensive operational experience.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.  Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
