Salary: $32.37 - $45.45 per hour

Position Summary:

Applications are invited from experienced and skilled Registered Nurses to join our dynamic Casual Pool.  The St Vincent’s Casual Pool provides the opportunity to work across many specialities and offers applicants a supportive team environment and a stimulating workplace.  Our casual pool nurses are valued members of the multi-disciplinary team, are encouraged to participate in all learning and development activities with the added flexibility of creating a roster that suits you.

We have 20 Casual positions available across multiple locations offering flexibility of shifts in specialty areas including critical care, ICU/HDU, surgery, haematology, cardiothoracic and heart transplant services, aged care, palliative care, mental health and drug and alcohol services.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
