Abour Your Job:

As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible to develop and grow a Corporate Sales Pipeline and secure new corporate contracts & SME accounts to generate passenger revenue. Has a responsibility for achieving individual sales targets for budgeted new business and is expected to contribute significantly towards the Department and Country target. The responsibilities include developing a successful, consistent approach to local, regional and global dealing, which drives maximum revenue and minimum cost of sale. Also includes negotiating agreements to bring maximum value for the airline. Engages in joint sales and marketing activity to grow the level and quality of QR revenue and drives efficiencies in the distribution process.

Specific accountabilities include :

  • Develops long term strategic relationships with Qatar Airways’ corporate clients.
  • Prepares an Account Development Plan to achieve short-term, medium-term and long-term mutual benefits for new corporate contract clients to be managed by the Corporate Account Management team.
  • Contributes the formulation and implementation of QR/Indian Sales Strategy to maximise short and long-term revenue opportunities, reduce cost of sale and generate channel shift (where appropriate).
  • Develop tactical Sales and Marketing activity in support of sales opportunities in the corporate environment.
  • Maximise value from Marketing spend.
  • Provides regular market intelligence and feedback from corporate clients and industry environment.
  • Represents QR at trade shows, promotions and sales functions, including supporting educational and familiarization trips.
  • Manages and builds relationships with key target corporate clients in the local market (India) to secure new corporate contracts / SME loyalty accounts.
  • In conjunction with Head Office (where applicable), manages the local RFP / bid submissions for multi-national / global corporate deals.
  • Work closely with the Internal Account Management team and supplies direction on key tasks to be delivered to accounts.

Feeds to Sales Manager, local market intelligence that may be incorporated into the strategic direction of India sales strategy.


About You:

To be effective in this role, you will need a Bachelors Degree combined with a minimum of four years of experience within a travel-related sales role. 

You will need an excellent knowledge of the local market and industry trends, along with an understanding of customer requirements.  An ability to succeed in a sales focused role within a fast growing company is a key requirement with  a proven record of meeting and over-achieving sales targets.

Experience in a GDS system will be preferred. 

You will need to be fluent (written and spoken) in English to perform this role.
