We are looking for Registered Nurses to provide and oversee a high standard of nursing care for patients being transported between hospitals or facilities in NSW. You will be patient-focused with the ability to build and foster strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders including patients, clinical staff at facilities, a team of Patient Transport Officers and the greater team at the New England Hub, which covers the Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes, Narrabri, Muswellbrook and Inverell areas
.

This varied nursing role also includes the transportation of stable, cardiac monitored patients, and other acute inpatients who require transport between hospital facilities.

This is a Casual position graded as a Registered Nurse (Years 1-8) with a salary starting from $32.37 - $45.45 per hour. Salary packaging benefits available providing additional benefits of up to $2,198.

About You

To be successful for the role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Post graduate clinical experience in an acute setting or other relevant experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated competency in basic life support skills, cardiac monitoring, basic cardiac rhythms interpretation and medication administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, clinical staff and stakeholders
  • Work autonomously and be a team player to build a constructive and positive team culture
  • Ability to perform physical-related and manual handling duties such as loading and unloading patients on/off stretchers

This is a NSW Health Category A position. You are required to provide evidence of immunity to Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella and potentially, Tuberculosis, at your own cost, prior to appointment. Please read, understand and agree with this Policy.

Preferred applicants must also participate in a Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA) prior to appointment.

Essential Criteria

You must have a current AHPRA registration and an Australian Driver’s Licence and upload evidence as a file attachment when completing your application. Your details will be checked during the application process. Capacity to work a seven (7) day rotating roster including public holidays and reasonable overtime. Successful candidates must also be available and committed to attend a 2.5 week full-time induction program. Dates relevant to the recruitment induction program will be made available by Patient Transport Service.
