Senior Clinical Fellow General Paediatrics
At BHRUT we are making a big investment into our service for children by significantly increasing the number of senior medical staff. We are now seeking to expand our middle grade rota by recruiting to six additional Senior Clinical Fellow (ST4+) posts alongside many new consultant posts. We are looking for passionate Paediatricians to join our expanding team which will see enhanced senior cover at all times.
These new posts are to start as soon as possible with fixed term contracts of 6 months to one year available, with the possibility of extension on review at the end of the initially agreed term.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain significant acute paediatric experience in a vibrant ward based job combined with exposure to one of London’s largest Emergency Departments. The post would be very suited to doctors currently in research posts or those thinking of applying for training posts in the near future. There are separate rotas for each of our two sites and for paediatrics and neonatal services at Queen’s hospital. The post holders will be expected to cover a combination of days and nights alongside substantive trust employed and deanery training doctors. This investment is designed to ensure that we comply with the Facing the Future standards and so, as well as your service commitments, we hope to be able to support outpatient clinic attendance and the development of a sub-specialty interest.
Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council (or eligible if currently working overseas), and have significant levels of experience working within acute Paediatrics.
While these are full time posts, applications are also welcomed from those wishing to work less than full time, particularly those looking for night shifts only alongside research roles or to fit in with childcare arrangements.
At BHRUT our first priority is the quality of care our patients receive. We are one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals in the country and employ circa 6,000 staff providing acute care for over 750,000 people across 2 main sites – Queen’s and King George Hospitals. The Trust is in an excellent location, well situated in the South East, with good transport links and is close to Central London. The Trust also has on-site nursery facilities and is located near good schools.
