Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is an award winning subsidiary of Qatar Airways, the national airline of the state of Qatar and currently operates at the Departure, Arrivals, VIP and Premium Terminal of Hamad International Airport. As one of the fastest growing Duty Free operations in the world, Qatar Duty Free operates from the new Hamad International Airport (HIA). HIA is also home to the newly created QDF Food & Beverage Division which will set new benchmarks in airport hospitality.

About Your Job:

In this role, you will be responsible for Qatar Duty Free's social media channels, exclusively for providing an effective and efficient Social Media customer service aligned with Qatar Duty Free strategic goals.  You will implement QDF social media strategy, create competitor analysis and monitor all conversations on digital and social media platforms.  You will also be responsible for handling QDF reputation management on social media platforms.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Create campaigns to enhance QDF social media presence, create awareness of products and services and, ultimately, to drive sales.
  • Cover events and awards on QDF Social Media channels by creating and editing social media rich content such as 360 multimedia, time-lapse videos and Instagram stories.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns and activation including but not limited to Marketing calendar, running relevant social media promotions and manage offline brand activations.
  • Implement and measure the integrated social media strategies.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the success of social media exposure and engagement results.
  • Responsible for managing online communities across a variety of channels, creating original content and eliciting content from multiple sources within and outside of QDF.
  • Create and execute a plan to actively engage and grow QDF social conversations and engagement.
  • Analyse effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media efforts in order to determine campaign effectiveness through relevant monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to create content for social media channels.
  • Conceptualize the implementation of compelling content and programs across various social platforms that engage and communicate effectively with QDF audience.
  • Execute social strategies and campaigns for new product launches, and brand partnerships.


About You:

To be effective in this role, you will need a Bachelors degree preferably in a relevant field such as Marketing or Communications, combined with at least five years of experience preferably in a similar social media focused position in a retail industry or social media agency.  You should have exceptional written English communication skills with the ability to develop creative and engaging content. You should also be flexible to respond to crisis situations both during and outside of work hours and be willing to handle high-stress situations which involve managing multiple activities, prioritising customer needs and responding effectively to crisis scenarios.
