Band 5 Staff Nurse, Interventional Radiology/Cardiac Catheter Lab

  • Are you looking for a new challenge?
  • Do you always strive to offer excellent patient care?
  • Then we may have the job for you.

An opportunity has become available within the Radiology Directorate at York. The post holder will be working in the Vascular Imaging Unit (VIU) and Radiology Department as a member of an expanding and supportive team.

This is an extremely exciting time to work within the unit, as we are in the process of expanding the unit from 2 labs to 4 whilst extending and improving our recovery facilities.

The post involves working in both the cardiac and interventional radiology catheter labs and in the preparation and recovery area in VIU as well as covering lists within the Main X-ray department.

You will be trained to work in both the scrub nurse and circulating nurse roles in the labs as well as learn to deliver all aspects of care during the preparation and recovery of patients. There is a robust training package in place for each of these areas.

We are passionate about enabling staff to develop and extend their scope of practice, and keen that all team members are involved in developing the service.

When suitably trained, you will take part in our 24/7 on call rota, offering vital emergency care to the population of North East Yorkshire.

Why not contact us to arrange an informal visit. We would love you meet our friendly team and have a look around our department.
