Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a professionally qualified, enthusiastic Assistant librarian to work alongside our highly skilled team in the delivery of high quality knowledge and library services.

You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your information skills and professional knowledge as well as contributing to new library initiatives.

The successful candidate will be based at York Hospital (but will work across Trust sites) where they will be expected to assist library users, supervise the library assistants and deputise for senior staff if necessary. You will work in various areas of the library service including literature searching, critical appraisal, teaching, marketing & promotion. The post holder will be expected to contribute to new library initiatives and take the lead on projects as required.

There will be opportunities to develop skills, attending internal and external training programmes, with visits to other local library services both from within and outside the NHS. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to complete the registration process to become a chartered member of CILIP if not already chartered.
