Responsibilities

To oversee day-to-day operations of the Emergency Medical Service, maintain adequate staffing level to accomplish daily tasks, implement and enforce budgetary process throughout department, assure that the department is in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital policy and procedure. Supervises duties performed in EMS. Develops and maintains sufficient, qualified staff members to insure delivery of consistent high quality care. Provides scheduling of staff during routine workdays as well as vacation, holidays and sick time. Work closely with the Community leadership in emergency management, Fire Chief, 911 Leadership, Police Chief, Sheriff, and county Commissioners. Maintain 911 response zone for Spalding County. Work with Senior Leadership to look for other opportunities to serve neighboring counties. Maintain state licensure of the EMS service. Maintain working relationship with EMS region committee and leadership. Overview and partnership with our Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. Oversight of community Health & Wellness Program. Represents WellStar in working with local government representatives. Serves as member of the trauma program.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education Bachelor-s degree required. Required Minimum Experience Seven to ten (7-10) years total Emergency Services experience required. Three to five (3-5) years EMS management experience required. Required Minimum Certification Current licensure as a Paramedic by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners. Valid Georgia Driver-s license required. ACLS & BLS certifications required. BLS & ACLS Instructor certifications desired. Required Minimum Skills Must demonstrate proficient skills in the areas of organization, decision-making, and effective communication. Must have previous supervisory experience. Able to handle multiple priorities, to make independent discretion/decision making, make decisions under pressure, works both independently as well as with others, and in a distracting environment effectively. Works with shift supervisors to insure that the highest quality of care is given. Working knowledge of Emergency Preparedness.
