Nuclear Medicine Consultant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nuclear Medicine Consultant or Radiologist to join our Radiology Team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post is suitable for both experienced consultants wishing to make a difference to our service, or those looking to start their consultant journey. Our Radiology Service
We are investing in our radiology service, installing a brand new Cardiac CT Scanner at King George Hospital (KGH) and looking to invest in 2 new MRI machines at Queen’s Hospital.
The Nuclear Medicine service provides a wide range of imaging services across the two hospital sites. We have an active nurse led cardiac stress service, on site Radiopharmacy Production unit and are a commissioned Radium therapy site, also providing out-patient I131 therapy services.
The successful candidate will work at both hospitals in accordance with their agreed job plan. There is remote reporting facility during oncall service including weekends. Oncall is outsourced after 11 pm.
Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) NHS Trust is one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals, providing acute care for over 750,000 people from across 2 main sites – Queen’s and King George Hospitals, as well as peripheral sites at Barking, Dagenham and Brentwood.
The Trust is in an excellent location, close to Central London and well situated in the South East. As well as all the advantages of being close to the city, the Trust has on-site nursery facilities at Queen’s and King George Hospital sites. Queen’s Hospital is within walking distance of Romford mainline station, where there is a reliable train service to London Liverpool Street station every 10 minutes (with a travelling time of 15-30 minutes).
Applicants must have full GMC Registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion within six months of the interview date. The post holder will also be required to register for Practitioner ARSAC licence.
