London South Bank University is recognised for providing a personalised, high calibre education which equips student midwives for employment and prepares them to make a positive contribution to the health and well-being of women and babies. Midwifery students undergoing pre and post registration training are provided with a dynamic evidence-based education alongside clinical placements in our partner Trusts in Central, North Central and East London.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced midwife to contribute to the provision of high quality learning through this joint post 0.5 wte within Barking Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trusts Maternity Education Team and 0.5wte as a Lecturer with the Midwifery Team within the Department of Adult Nursing and Midwifery, School of Health and Social care, London South Bank University.Our teams work closely together and offer excellent opportunities for development and support in this unique role.
You will work closely with the Lead Midwife for Education (LME) and the Midwifery team within the Department of Adult Nursing and Midwifery at LSBU Southwark Campus. To teach and undertake teaching-related duties in the subject area which enhance the quality of the student experience. To contribute to the development of specified, high quality programmes which understand and meet students’ needs. To ensure that these programmes meet the University’s commitment to equality through the development of the curriculum and by diversifying the range of students. To maintain professional competence in the teaching of midwifery
You will be a practicing midwife with recent experience of teaching and or mentoring students who can demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to work within the multidisciplinary team.
