An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Renal Team, within General Medicine at York Hospital.

The main duties will include Consultant diary management, checking patient information is available in a timely manner, dealing with correspondence from patients and GP's, ensuring referral to treatment targets are met, together with the typing of clinic and discharge letters.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, recent secretarial/administration experience of more than 2 years within the NHS, and be well organised.  A sound knowledge of medical vocabulary would be an advantage, and applicants should be proficient at audio-typing and have a working experience of digital dictation.

The applicant will be expected to have a flexible approach to work, exercise excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, and be able to work effectively as a team member, having good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
