Senior HPC Software Engineer (0000DZ9C)    We are hiring for a Senior HPC Software Engineer to support our Traded Risk division. Global Functions Risk systems are complex, both from a technical and business perspective, and often demands new technology, speed of change, time to market and 24x7 availability. Traded Risk Software provides solutions to the Risk function globally within HSBC. This includes software development, business analysis, testing and deployment of applications and systems responsible for Risk Management within HSBC Global Functions Risk.   Key duties include:  
  • Ensuring technical delivery of systems for traded risk.
  • Being a key team member for the Traded Risk Software Delivery team to work on strategic bank projects, improving the existing business systems and processes.
  • To complete analysis work on our strategic Market Data & Scenario generation platform, Tiger Scenario Engine (TSE) which incorporates the vendor application Asset Control.
  • To support processes that already exist in the Traded Risk Infrastructure, and assist the existing team members with the on-going change programme.
  • Working with team of developers both onshore and offshore as part of a key 3 year transformation.

 

 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 
  • Working knowledge of Java (ideally v8), solid software development background.
  • General development tools (Junit,+ other testing frameworks, Maven, Git, Sonar, Jenkins).
  • Ability to work with both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Ability to work in multiple projects/streams in same time.
  • Ability to work as part of a global team across several locations with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take responsibility for all aspects of the deliverable including validation, estimation, testing and release.
  • Understanding of technical architecture / design and SDLC.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Drive to improve and enhance existing processes.
  • Working in a DevOps / Agile orientated environment.
  • Previous FS/Banking experience.
  • Understand of financial market risk would be beneficial.
 

The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
