We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Strategic Data Projects.
Coordinate data management activities including data quality management and strategic projects (e.g. IFRS17 , TML, Cloud Migration, etc) across Insurance CDO office, Insurance Risk data management and Finance Data and Systems teams
Manage execution of data strategy and google cloud platform solutions through phased implementation and migrations yielding quick wins and incremental business value
Engage with RBWM D&IM organization to leverage established capabilities, tools and frameworks wherever possible
Collaborate with other Global Businesses (RBWM, CMB, GPB) and Global Functions(Risk, Finance) as required
Work with HSBC regulatory/legal organizations to drive compliance across data management and data sharing programs
Work closely with RBWM Analytics and Insurance ARA organizations to ensure most accurate and up-to-date data is available for performing analytics in the areas of actuarial, distribution, products and manufacturing
Work with a variety of information management, data management and business professionals at various levels of expertise in establishing collaboration, content management, data consolidation, information delivery and data re-use strategies
Support Insurance Business with the distribution of Management Information (MI) and facilitated delivery of data in coordination with HOST
Reduce complexity through streamlining existing business processes; align information flows across the firm resulting in reduced cost, improved data quality and enhanced controls reducing operational risk
Manage Data Management initiatives/projects to ensure on-time/on-budget delivery
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Professionally Qualified with solid experience dealing directly with data management required; Master’s degree in a related discipline desirable
Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services (Insurance, Banking, Wealth Management, and Commercial Banking) business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance, etc.
A good understanding of data quality and data governance within a banking/insurance environment
Demonstrated knowledge of data structures, data systems/tools and related software and data management policies and practices in a complex organizational environment
Good knowledge of data regulations like BCBS, GDPR, etc. applicable to Insurance in multiple geographies.
Proven passion for the data quality and data management discipline
Good business and data analysis skills
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
