We’re looking for full-stack application developers with experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, HTML5 and enterprise databases.  We are looking to appoint at band 7, dependent on skills and experience, but we’d also welcome applications from candidates who do not quite meet the grade requirement, but who would, after gaining specified competencies, be suitable for the role.

ABOUT THE TEAM

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) holds the status of Global Centre of Digital Excellence and is leading an exciting programme to become paperless as a digital exemplar trust. We are utilising additional investment to boost our informatics strategy and enable us to deliver pioneering applications to support patient care and medical research. As part of our current wide-ranging digital strategy, we are developing a modern data warehouse to power advanced real-time analytics, providing insights and enhanced decision making for all our staff

The My Medical Record Team, providers of our internationally acclaimed and award winning patient online service, currently have two developer vacancies due to increasing development and business need.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The successful candidate will be working with members of the My Medical Record Team and wider stakeholders (both clinical and non-clinical) to develop new functionality and modules in support defined customer and user requirements. They will also be responsible for the full lifecycle management of their own code including testing of their own code ahead of unit and end-to-end testing by other team members and preparation for go-live. Our developers also provide 3rd line operational support on all aspects of the service.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for experienced full-stack application developers who can enhance our existing systems, and develop new solutions to meet the needs of the Trust and our partner organisations.  Significant experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, and HTML5, is essential, as well as practical experience of enterprise databases. Awareness of HL7, FHIR, JSON/XML would be advantageous.

Applicants must be self-motivated, with an ability to adapt their skills to our development environment. We operate complex data storage architectures with multiple APIs and therefore significant knowledge transfer will be required, so the right candidate will also be a quick learner.  The post requires collaboration with non-technical staff to establish requirements and model the business.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
