We have an exciting opportunity for a specialty admin team administrator within the respiratory service/ medical outpatients. The post holder will provide and manage the administration and booking processes around the Respiratory Centre services and medical outpatients. This will involve arranging clinics, booking appointments, recording some diagnostic tests, and providing reception cover. The post holder will work closely with the specialist nursing team; ensuing activity is correctly recorded so that income is not at risk.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The post holders will be required to work Monday – Sunday between the hours of 8am and 8pm (usual hours between 8am and 5pm but you may be required to work an evening or weekend with prior notice)

You will work within dedicated specialty clinical area to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.  The post holder will work closely with consultants and the specialist nursing team; ensuring activity is correctly recorded so that income is not at risk.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a very busy role, with a large and varied workload.

The post holder will work on a rota system within the admin team.

This includes;

  • Desk work on 2 different desks
  • Prepping for clinics
  • Answering the telephone and email queries
  • Booking appointments

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
