An exciting opportunity has arisen at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals for a dynamic individual to join the Liver team.

Blackpool has the highest mortality rate in the country for liver disease and by expanding our team, we can aim to reduce inpatient admissions, inpatients re-admissions, reduce length of stay, improve mortality rates, improve patient experience, improve hepatitis C rates and provide earlier specialist management for patients with liver disease.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse with an interest in liver disease to join our nurse specialist team. The successful applicant will be expected to have some experience in caring for patients with liver disease, possess excellent communication skills and an ability to provide professional advice and support not only to  patients but their families and wider member of the multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be involved in working with patients with liver conditions including cirrhosis,  alcohol liver disease, Hepatitis B&C, fibro scan and those patients with an abnormal liver function.

The post holder will play a key role in developing the liver service at the Trust and will be expected to work autonomously as well as working collaboratively with our Consultant Gastroenterologists.
