Over the last 2 years Blackpool Teaching Hospitals has worked closely with commissioners and Better Start to transform the Health Visiting Services. This has been a huge commitment and has increased the HV visits from 5-8 for the 0-4 population. It is now time for us to look at the transformation of the School Nursing Services to continue to deliver a first class service. This is a unique opportunity if you are a forward thinking professional who is keen to embrace change and wants to influence the delivery of the service within the town.
Working with the relevant agencies you will be involved in developing and delivering plans to improve health outcomes for individuals, families and communities which contribute to the wider public health agenda and promote healthy behaviours. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
You should have good organisational abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively and be competent with IT. You must be committed to working effectively within a team and with a variety of different agencies. Excellent knowledge of the current and local health agenda relating to children’s services and school nursing is a necessity.
You will be well supported by your manager and colleagues and valued in your role. We offer opportunities for personal and professional development and we also provide regular supervision using the 4x4x4 restorative model.
Informal visits and enquiries are welcome. Time spent with the team can be offered to the interested candidates if they wish.
