Our Client seeking a
systems engineer proficient in Linux to join its Infrastructure Engineering
team. This is a hands-on technical role within a cross-platform engineering
team responsible for core technology infrastructure.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Engineering designs and maintains the firm's operating systems, authentication
systems, databases, virtualization infrastructure, core network services, and
messaging and endpoints on Windows and Linux in both our internal- and
external-facing environments. This engineer would be tasked with the design,
implementation, and integration of infrastructure systems, particularly—but not
exclusively—on Linux-based systems.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING
ideal candidate should have a degree in computer science (or another
technical discipline) or comparable work experience. Proficiency in
Python, Java, or another similar language is required. An in-depth
knowledge of Linux-based systems and excellent networking, tooling, and
automation skills (e.g., using Python, Puppet, etc.) are also
experience with the design and end-to-end implementation of performant,
reliable, and secure infrastructure systems is essential, as are superb
troubleshooting capabilities and experience with diagnostic/tracing tools.
with declarative configuration management, automated build, deployment,
and CI/CD systems is highly desirable, as is a working knowledge of core
infrastructure technologies such as DNS, DHCP, and Kerberos. A working
knowledge of Windows, network protocols, information security concepts,
databases, and large-scale storage is preferred.
communication skills are imperative, as the role will entail significant
interaction with different departments in the firm.
