Responsibilities

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) is a care provider who functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. The PCT assists other health care providers with safe, age appropriate and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions; ie ambulation, vital signs, phlebotomy, simple treatments and discontinuing foley catheters; transporting supplies/equipment/patient medications and performs other duties deemed necessary t ensure delivery of optimal care.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Minimum Experience: Three years hospital/outpatient care setting or two semesters clinical nursing school experience preferred

Required Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak the English language; Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care; Ability to multi-task and function in stressful and emergency situations. Strong detail orientation required; Computer skills required; BCLS certifies,; Ability to pass Cardiology 101; Personal time management skills required.
